ABOUT THE INSTITUTE AND EVENT

The Society of Law & Literature, UPES School of Law is organizing ‘ONLINE STORY WRITING COMPETITION’. Nested on the foothills of the Himalayas, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies has innovatively emerged as a distinctive institution which provides domain-focused specialized graduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. The university is broadly categorized into four schools, namely School of Law(SOL), School of Engineering(SOE), School of Design(SOD) and School of Business(SOB).

TOPIC

The piece must be written in a short storytelling style and woven around legal scenario/plot/subject.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• The competition is open to all the students pursuing LL.B. (3 years or 5-year course) or LL.M. from any recognized university across India.
• Only Individual Participation is allowed.
• Only one submission per author will be accepted. Multiple or incomplete submissions would lead to disqualification.
• There is no restriction on the number of entries from any college or university.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The participants must send submissions to upessoll[at]gmail.com with the subject of the mail as ‘SUBMISSION – SOLL STORY WRITING COMPETITION, 2020’.

• The language of the story should either be English or Hindi.
• Plagiarism of any sort will result in immediate disqualification.
• The max. word limit per submission is 2000 words.
• All submissions must be typed and adhere to the following requirements: Font Type: Times New Roman; Font Size: 12; Line Spacing: 1.5; Alignment: Justified.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Entries will be reviewed by a panel of illustrious academicians and professionals.
• The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
• The criteria of marking will be based on creativity, originality, articulation of ideas, the interweaving of law & fiction, language and grammar.

The last date for the registration of the competition is 10/02/2020.
