The School of Law, University of Mysore, has proud to organize the first edition of International Model United Nations Conference on the Agenda being “Impact of cybercrimes on International Security and Human Rights” under Disarmament & International Security Committee of United Nations General Assembly.

The MUN will be held on: 2nd March 2020.

Participants can choose the country from the country matrix. Each participant will be allowed to represent only one country. Countries will be allotted according to preference on a first come first serve basis.

How Model United Nations Conference benefited anyone?

Model United Nations, also known as MUN, is an educational simulation and/or academic competition in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

In MUN, participants will act as a diplomat from a particular country then discuss international issues like the process that occurs at a UN conference. Throughout the conference, delegates will gain insight into the workings of the United Nations by actively participating in the resolution of important global issues.

Participants in Model UN conferences, known as delegates, are placed in committees and assigned countries, or occasionally other organizations or political figures, where they represent members of that body. They are presented with their assignments in advance, along with a topic or topics that their committee will discuss. Delegates conduct research before conferences and formulate positions that they will then debate with their fellow delegates in the committee, staying true to the actual position of the member they represent. At the end of a conference, the best-performing delegates in each committee, as well as delegations, are sometimes recognized with awards.
